I installed some old drawers I made for my old workshop in the middle of the big span - the side legs not only support the drawers but also provide support for the span:The end of the legs have adjustable feet salvaged from an old Maytag appliance. This allows the carpet to be moved and the height of the span adjusted for accuracy.
