Butcher shop - Metzgerei

I was given a set of Vollmer buildings called "Bahnhofstraße" (Station Street) item 3675. It is a box of five buildings that were/are also available separately. I started with the butcher shop which is an end building with two large shop windows. The building is also sold as item 3674. This post describes how I built it and added super detailed interior.

Working HO scale platform signs

Since I constructed my underground S-Bahn station in 2003, new technology has enabled some exciting upgrades. After creating a miniature arrivals and departures sign for my HO scale main station, I decided to also make some platform specific signs for both platforms of my underground S-Bahn station. This enables the passengers to see what the next arrival or departure is.

Faller 180432 Steel fence with concrete posts

I bought this kit to place between my farm and the road.  The plastic posts looked a bit too plastic so I had to paint them gray.


Installation was very easy. I threaded the wire through the posts and then pushed each post into a small hole made in the ground with a bradawl. Once the fence was in place I pulled each one up and added a drop of wood glue.

Mountain goat

I like to add small details that observes can find... like a mountain goat peeping over the hillside
